An insanely late IF submission... Oooops! Oh well better late than never. The colours have worked really well on this one, I think. 


My holiday is slowly approaching, can't wait, but I don't think I will look ANYWHERE near that good in my swimsuit! *Shrugs shoulders* Oh well! 

...First signs of Christmas 2011...

Can you believe we are well and truly on the down hill slope 'til Christmas?! I mean, it REALLY doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago that we were all shivering under -18 degrees last Winter!


Anyway, I received my first Christmas commission a couple of weeks ago and just to get everyone in that premature Christmassy mood I thought I'd share now.

This is a gift for a close friend who could be moving away soon. Hopefully she will like it!
This friend and I share a few personality traits; one of which is a love of FOOD - cooking food, baking food and most of all, EATING FOOD! Especially CAKE!!!
I'm thinking this might be the start of a small collection of illustrations depicting things I love. What do you think? Also, do you think this would make a good birthday card?! Would love to hear your thoughts!

...Illustration Friday: Asleep...

My latest Illustration Friday submission for the theme "Asleep". Hope you like!
I actually did this illo about 5 years ago now (Oh, how time flies... and all that!) but it's an old favourite as it marked a turning point in my work. Prior to this, I had been struggling for a while with the transition between painting traditionally and digital work but, quite suddenly, I found a confidence working with the computer and my style of drawing just... clicked! So although it's not an up to date piece of work, I think it's nice because of the memories it holds and because it's pretty!

This year, I wanted to get a head start on designing my Christmas card in the hope I could get them printed professionally instead of hours the week before Christmas spent printing, cutting, folding and sticking. The major downfall of being this organized is my getting bored of said design by the time Christmas is here and then sending something out that I have noticed loads of flaws with...

So people, this may, or may not, be my card design for Christmas 2010! We'll see.

...A quiet moment in Twilight...

Last Spring, a friend introduced me to a book... You may have heard of it; it's called "Twilight"... The month following this revelation was spent doing very little else other than READING! I was (still am!) OBSESSED!!!

I have been desperate to create a piece of Twilight FanArt but I have never been able to find the time or confidence to try and put the image down on paper/computer, until now!

I have tried to capture one of the most memorable moments of the whole Twilight series, for me at least... That precious moment at their wedding party, that Bella & Edward steal away from their friends & family, to be alone together for the first time as man & wife. *Lump in my throat* *Weeps*
